“Molly Star-Racer” By Savin Yeatmann-Eiffel [2001, France] - The original “trailer”/pilot for the animated series Oban Star Racers, released in 2006. It is a lot different from the series that was eventually born, being more comedic-looking and with greater 3D animation than in the final series. It took five long years to find funding for the series, as Savin did not want to work with someone who would have more control over the series than he did, including the possibility of changing the main character to a boy, so ended up creating his own studio to avoid this.
P.S., I would heartily recommend the final series to anyone who hasn’t seen it, it’s a bit sadly underappreciated. Find it on Youtube, it’s only 26 episodes.
